Rearranging

DSCN0407

I took down the wall-mounted tv that was in this corner and moved my forever golden rug over towards the corner, hung my ‘couch potato’ picture and rearranged the corner shelf and the top of my sewing machine.

DSCN0408

Here’s the picture of Tag and Manley that Jacque gave to me in the background as pups atop my sewing machine.

DSCN0410

It looks so much less cluttered without that tv hanging up there.  And it’s brighter now. See my stuffed pixie bob on the right end of the shelf?  My sister Jacque made that for me!!

That’s all I have for today!

TJ

DSCN0403

DSCN0402

These pictures of TJ are not that great, as I took a picture of a picture.

I miss him so.  He was also blind in his left eye and going blind in his right eye and trusted me totally.  Very good with voice commands too.

More snow today, but no pictures.

More another day!

LOOK!! More Snow Coming!

DSCN0399

Just had to share this one.  We have more snow coming. Not sure how much.  But those clouds are covering a good share of the top of the mountains.  Can’t wait for it to get here!!

I had my unemployment appeal hearing yesterday. Won’t know the decision until I get it in the mail---hopefully by Friday.

Went to a matinee yesterday ‘Book of Eli’ and I suggest every one go see it.  Denzel is magnificent in it and the movie is awesome.

Have a good day!

Kisa

DSCN0274

This is my precious Kisa.  Just wanted to put a more recent picture of her on here because the one on the side of the blog is from when she was about 5 months old.  She is now almost 5 years old.  But, I love that picture of her when she was young!!    Can you tell the difference between her and Sparkle?  Let me know!!

Nothing new on the job front YET.  This morning I took the test for the Federal Census 2010 and passed.  Hip Hip Hooray!!  They will be contacting me within a week or so.  The training is in February and then the real ‘foot work’ starts in March.  Durango census takers go door-to-door and deliver the forms, then ask for you to mail them in if you are too busy to answer questions then.  It will be mostly evenings and weekends and up to 40 hours a week. And it could last until Sept. or October.  Hey, it’s a job!!

I was in Albertson’s this noon picking up my last paycheck and getting some yogurt, water and ibuprofen from the pharmacy that I had forgotten there this last week.   The tech, Jerrilyn, could not find my ibu so she said to talk with Dwight, the manager, next time he worked. Susan, the other pharmacist, was sitting out of sight and neither one asked how I was doing or too bad things didn’t work out or kiss my butt or anything.  And I had gone up there with a smile on my face and was being very pleasant.  I said hi to a couple of people there and they could not believe that I was let go.   So, I’m glad that month is behind me and that I am moving on.

That’s all I’ve got for now folks!

Oh!  Jacque is getting the quilting done and the binding sewn on my wonderful, large, beautiful quilt.  Hope I get to see it soon!   Go to her blog doodles of my mind  (on my sidebar) and take a peek.

In Case You Forgot What Snow Looks Like:

DSCN0358

My shovel placed to see how much snow we got.  Yup, about 1 foot!!

DSCN0359

We all know who this handsome man is!

DSCN0361

The snow outside my bedroom window this a.m. My window is 3 feet off the ground.

DSCN0363

There are really two cars buried out there. One is a jeep and one is a sedan.

DSCN0372

My van is on the right hand side of the garage.  It’s red.  Can you find it??

DSCN0371

Snow on the roof.

DSCN0374

I unburied the hot tub this a.m.

DSCN0376

Going down the first part of the driveway, then have to turn left for the rest.

DSCN0378

This is the rest and it kind of angles to the left and goes down some more to the road.  Too slippery to walk all the way down. Will post another one someday soon from the bottom to the top.

DSCN0377

Standing in the first part of the driveway, looking back towards the house.  Camera is at my eye level.

DSCN0380

Looking from the garage towards the side of the house where the deck is, and the hot tub is right out of sight on the right.

DSCN0370

The snow ready to fall off the roof.

DSCN0368

This is such a cool picture.  I opened my living room window and got a close up of this pile of snow.  It is blue.  That is how much water is in the snow that fell last night.

DSCN0369

I had Manley sit next to this pile of snow.  He measures  28” at the top of his head.

So, it is still snowing lightly and is not suppose to quit until sometime tomorrow.  The kids are gone skiing so I am here alone left to do the necessary shoveling.

Let me know how your Friday is going!

WOW, is that SNOW?

DSCN0339 DSCN0342

DSCN0340

DSCN0341

Yup, that sure looks like snow to me!!! DSCN0345

This is how much is on the trees today, as yesterday the wind blew all of the other snow off of it.  We are suppose to get at least another foot or two by Saturday.

Making soup and staying home are my plans for the next 3 days!!!

Roasted Tomato Soup and Southwest White Chili are the 2 kinds of soup I’m thinking about.

Digging for GOLD??

DSCN0337

Here’s Manley digging for something in the snow. Think maybe it’s gold.  He and I had fun in the snow (6 more inches last night/today). He was trying to eat it all and I was trying not to get pulled over because it is slippery!!

SNOW

DSCN0326

This is what it looked like this morning as the snow was falling and then started blowing.

DSCN0329

This is at noon with clouds just suspended in the sky, almost low enough to reach up and touch.

DSCN0331

Remember the other day when the sun was out and the snow had melted and I thought the shadows looked so cool?  Well, same spot, different day!

DSCN0333

And now here is the picture of the next front moving in.  It may go to the north of us, but you never know!!

DSCN0334

And just another close up of the front.

So, we got about 8 inches of snow.  It is heavy and a pain to shovel, to say the least.  As usual, my neighbor cleaned up my path again from my door to his driveway.  I always make sure I go out if I am here and wave thank you to him.  He likes to know he is appreciated.

Well, my live has taken another turn.  I’m not sure if it is for the better or worse.  I got let go from Albertson’s yesterday.  For various reasons, I didn’t pass the 30 day mark.

So, I am putting out resume’s again at doctor offices….,and also stopped in the ‘Tile Art’ store, where they sell floor and wall tiles along with some beautiful sinks.  Who knows, my creative side might want to come out and play while my technician side takes a nap.

If anybody knows what I want to be when I grow up, please let me know!!

I have a phone appeal hearing next Tuesday, the 26th, against Walgreens. They will decide if I get any unemployment from them.  So, wish me luck in the job hunting and appeal hearing!

I have family and friends that support me and I really do appreciate you all.

Computer Table/Chair

DSCN0245

Keep meaning to post this picture of my computer table, mouse pad and chair that I bought in November.  Both chair and table are on rollers so it is convenient to move the chair out of the way and also the table if I need to get into the lower cupboard.

Today at work I was talking with my boss’s wife, Sharon McAnear.  She has written a couple books and I had 2 of them on hold at the library.  I told her I would be getting the books soon, and she said that she would just bring one of her first print books over to me.   And autograph it for me!

So, she is about 5’ tall and slim, and very nice.  First time I have met her and she gives me an autographed book!!  I was very touched and told her how much I appreciated her gesture.  I started reading it on my lunch hour and only got into the first 10 pages, but it is well written and I know I will enjoy it!

When I got home tonight, I tried out  a new recipe for supper.  It is Spicy Chicken and Chorizo.  I changed up the recipe so that it was simpler.  It has chicken, chorizo, rice, chicken broth, red pepper, chiles, tomato paste and cilantro.  It can be as spicy as you want it to be and I am still salivating after eating a nice portion.  You could substitute hot Italian sausage for the chorizo and jalepeno peppers for the chiles.  Send me your email if you want the recipe!!   I should have enough for another 4 meals at least!

Just watching the playoff game and sorry that Arizona lost.  Y’all have a good rest of the weekend!!

Is That Avocado Mine??

DSCN0302

Just a few miscellaneous pictures.  Here’s one of Manley ‘Is that an avocado or my ball up there on the counter?’

DSCN0305

Here’s Miss Kalista and her ‘shadow’.

DSCN0306

Just kind of liked the way the sun shows his little fine hairs!!

DSCN0308

Manley wanting me to come see something in the bedroom.   I think his toy was under the bed.  And Kisa rubbing on his leg.

DSCN0309

‘Does Sparkle have to be that close to my leg?’

DSCN0310

‘Now she’s even closer!’

DSCN0311

‘Mom, do something!! She’s touching me!’

DSCN0324

Just a cool picture of the hill of rocks and all of the shadows.  There are also two deer trails about 1/2 way up and 2/3 of the way up in the picture.

So I have just been working and working and running errands…………

Nothing much planned for this weekend.  Just work on Saturday and watch football on Sunday.  Haven’t decided who to cheer for when the Vikings and Cowboys play, as I don’t care for either!!

Decided to eat more salads in my future.  Better for my figure!!  Wish me luck!!

Yes, Still My Day Off Too!!

DSCN0301

This is me, Manley, sleeping after my walk with mom.  We went to the post office and mailed out a Christmas/Birthday present to my cousin Tag E Butt.  Then mom and I walked along the river.  Then we got home and I slept (see photo above) and mom sat in the hot tub.

Now we will await Tag’s phone call when he gets the present.

More later folks!

Isn’t This My Day Off TOO??

DSCN0296

Poor me!!  I am trying to sleep while my mom is determined to vacuum, do dishes, do laundry and talk on the phone.  I just want to snuggle up on my bed with my quilt from Auntie Jacque and get some rest.

I have to rest because I know she is taking me with her to the post office so I can mail a package to my cousin Tag E Butt and then she told me she would go for a walk along the river with me.  It is nice and sunny here today and 28 degrees right now.  Not a cloud in the sky.

I’ll let you know how the post office and walk go.

Saturday at the Playoffs

DSCN0292

Here’s a picture of Manley after he was groomed a week ago.  He seems to be asking a question.  Any one have an idea what it might be?  Please reply!!!

Been watching the playoffs today when not doing laundry, reading, making posole or steak fajitas.

Bengals lost to the Jets and now Dallas and Eagles are playing, Dallas being ahead by 10 points.

DSCN0298 DSCN0297 DSCN0299

Here are some pictures of icicles. The very first long icicle in the first picture hangs from the eaves to the snow pile.  The last one is looking out my bedroom window.

Hope y’all are having a good weekend. Don’t forget to guess what Manley is asking!!

The Manley Man

DSCN0170

Just thought I’d put up a head shot of Manley that was taken this fall instead of just snow and more snow.  Tired of snow.

The job is going good, more comfy with the different computer system, and getting to know more people out in the store.  I just thank God every day that I have a job.

Every Friday is payday, so it’s the favorite day in my week!!  I have this weekend off.  No big plans. Maybe watch some playoff games and of course clean, do laundry…………..

Manley would like to go for a walk both Saturday and Sunday, so we shall see what the weather is.

No New Year resolutions for me.  If I make them, I’ll break them.  Just want to try to get the most out of every day.

Have to put some thought into what to cook this weekend.  Any ideas??
