OH NO!! The Weekend is Almost Over

This was a great weekend. I had a house guest. Victoria, from the Cortez Walgreens, worked at our store and then stayed over at my place so she didn't have to drive 45 minutes to and from work this weekend.

We had a good time. We went out to Gazpacho's last night and then came home and sat in the hot tub for 2+ hours drinking wine. The landlord stopped over and chatted for awhile.

This morning we ran to the flea market before Victoria had to work at 10. She got a few items and I got a small vase for my bathroom. Then we went to the Brick House for a quick breakfast.

Then I came home and did some cleaning, dishes, laundry, gardening, and cut down some saplings. Then at 3:00, Twig got dropped off here so his owners could drive up to Aspen for a day or two. She is a Lhasa Apso and quite the character. She is very territorial and thinks that this is her house, and she barks at Manley when he gets too close.

I cooked lunch (late) from a recipe in the newspaper the other day.
It consisted of sirloin steak, red potatoes and I substituted green beans instead of corn. It also gave directions for a chimichurri sauce to dip the steak in. It was delicious!!!!!!!!!

Then I cleaned up the kitchen and sat and relaxed in front of the tv.

Found out this weekend that the guys in the front of the house are moving out at the end of July. I hope Joe finds some nice people to move in.

Time to let the dogs out and go to bed.

Good, Lazy Weekend

I had a great weekend, and I think Manley did too.

Sunday we slept in, I did the usual feeding, dishes, litter box,.... and then read a few chapters. I am reading Strike Force by Dale Brown and it is ok. I am waiting on a couple of books to free up at the library so it will be my turn to check them out.

I groomed Manley out in the sun and then we went for a hike, instead of going downtown. We went up the hill and along the path up and around the hill until the path ran out. By the time we got back, both of us were tired. I sat in the hot tub awhile and when I got out I dried off in the sun.

I listened to a lot of music this past weekend. I have a couple of Pandora stations with some country, some Latin, and then some Richard Marx, Journey, Celine Dion......

Of course, I watched the Nascar Sprint Cup Sunday afternoon. It was a road race, so of course more turns and most of them being right turns. Kasey Kahne won the race.

Then I sat out on the deck and watched the sun set while listening to a cd. Manley was right by my side and it was really awesome to watch the sun behind a dark cloud but the rays of sun shining out all around it. I never get over the scenery and the sunsets.

Yesterday I went to work at 9:00 and ended up working until 7:00pm. The girl who was suppose to come in at 5:30 called in sick. Seeing we are short a tech, I did work my butt off. Today I am going in at 10am and hoping to be done by 7pm. I hope they hire some one soon!

One of the customers is going to let me read the new Lee Child book he bought--Gone Tomorrow. He really likes it and we always talk books when he comes in for his prescription.

I never did get downtown to the festivities this weekend. I guess they had all sorts of things for kids, like face painting, those big inflated jumpy things, and then music by local artists, and such.

I dog sit for Jeff (actually for Mattie and Jazzie) Wed through Sat this week. I still have to find out if Victoria is staying overnight while working at our Walgreens this weekend.

Well, off to get ready for work, then to the post office and then on to work.

Lazy Weekend

I am going to have a lazy weekend, just like my title. So far, so good.
Yesterday we had a scheduling error so I ended up working 11-7:30 but was ready to go for the 9-5:30 shift. So, I vacuumed, dusted, did dishes, started laundry all in the 2 extra hours I had before work.

So, today I finally dragged myself out of bed at 8:00 am, made coffee, fed animals and such, ate breakfast (eggs and strawberries) and sat around in my jammies until noon. Then I decided I needed to go to the library to get a decent book to read. Manley went with and was enjoying the cool breeze coming in the windows. (It has been cloudy and 60's all day)
For lunch I had sliced mushrooms and cucumbers and shaved mozzarella cheese covered with a small amount of dressing made up of olive oil, a splash of apple cider vinegar, lots of garlic salt, some ginger, and some more red pepper. It was filling and good!!

This afternoon I managed to read a few chapters of a book, clean strawberries, finish laundry, get supper out of the freezer and made some strawberry lemonade. (Country Time lemonade and blenderized (is that a word?) strawberries---50-50 combination.)

Now I am blogging and watching the Nascar time trials. The Nationwide series that is on tonight is in Milwaukee, at the State Fair Grounds. Saw some familiar sights in the background too!! Maybe Jacque can hear the cars zooming around from her house! :)

My flower gardens are doing wonderful. I have been taking flowers in to work and putting them in a vase by the drive-through window for all to appreciate. There are Columbines, peonies, daisies, and a couple others that I don't know what they are. The colors are purple, yellow, orange, pink and white. I still have day lilies yet to bloom around the pond. Kelly, the landlord Joe's wife, won't tell me what color they are. She just told me that I would love them.

Tomorrow, when it is suppose to be sunny and 84 out, Manley and I will be taking a nice leisurely walk downtown. They have a few things going on down there and I'll groom him up so he looks even more handsome!
I also have to finish mowing the lawn (the part on the other side of the driveway) and do some weeding and trimming. Then the Nascar Sprint Cup race will be on so I will watch that.

So, that's my Lazy Weekend plans. Y'all have a great weekend.

Stars

Good news! I got a gift certificate from Walgreens today. It was for when a customer entered a survey and mentioned me by name because of the good service I had given her. It is very nice to be appreciated. I have to go on the Walgreens computer and activate it. Then I'll find out how much it is for. They usually issue them for about $20.00.

Monday we broke our daily record of 269 scripts in 14 hours. Monday we did 284 scripts and today we had 200 by the time I left at 5:30. Talk about sore feet, legs and fingers! Today was Sierra's last day and now on to working by myself most days before they hire some person to be trained. Oh Joy!!! Not my favorite thing to do, but they have computer training first and then we slowly work them in on checking people out and taking in new scripts...........

One of the pharmacists from the Cortez Walgreens (where I trained) is coming over to work a long weekend in another week or so. Victoria may stay at my place instead of driving 45 miles back and forth. We should have fun going out for supper, even if she doesn't stay over.

The Weekend Has Sped By

Just sitting, relaxing, and thinking about how fast the weekend went.

Friday I worked until 7:30 pm, stopped at the store for a few groceries, then got home and fed Manley, then watched a little tv and went to bed about 10:00.

Saturday I slept in until 7:00, fed the animals, cleaned my place, did the laundry, walked Manley, weeded flower beds, cooked some chicken, clipped cat nails, dog nails and combed Manley, Kisa and Sparkle, then went over to the neighbors, Jim and Cynthia's, and sat and watched a thunder storm move in. It rained hard for over an hour. Their daughter, Erin, is home from college and fun to be around. When I got back home I made my bed, ate supper and watched some tv.

Sunday, today, I washed my windows, weeded more flower beds, trimmed the grass around the house (using a hand clippers) and waited for the landlord to drop off the lawn mower. Well, that never happened but I did get some time in the sun (between the big gray clouds) and played frizbee with Manley. He is quite good and tries catching it between his front legs and mouth.

Then I watched the Nascar race, and Mark Martin won after Jimmie Johnson and Gregg Biffle ran out of gas in the last lap.

I cut some flowers in the garden to take to work tomorrow. They brighten up my day, and other people comment on them too. Who wouldn't smile or feel better looking at yellow, orange, purple, pink and orange flowers? I don't know the type of all of the flowers, but enjoy them any way.

In case any of you haven't noticed, I changed my music from Enrique to Tim McGraw, ALL BY MYSELF. I finally took the time to see what all I could do with my blog. If I had a digital camera I could do a lot more. In time!!

Hope every one has a great week and stays well.

Busy, Busy Weekend

Good evening!!! Have been quite busy the last couple days.

Friday I got to work with a pharmacist that helped train me when I first started at Walgreens and drove to Cortez for 2 and 1/2 months. (75 miles away)
Terry now has 3 kids and is working some overtime at our store. She will be working Monday also, so get to spend more time with her.

Saturday was quite the busy day. I got up early, fed my animals... and drove up to Jeff's and took Mattie and Jazzie for a long walk. Then I came home and started on my list of things to get done:
Mow lawn, weed flowers, pick up dog piles, cleaned my place, grocery shopping, laundry, clean bathroom, dishes, litter box, garbage, change bed, water lawn, fill pond.

And while doing all of this I also took care of Gary's dog, Ollie and Misty.
I also went up to Jeff's at least 4 times yesterday to let the dogs out of their crates and romp around.
By suppertime I was pooped and sat and read for quite awhile.

Today, after letting out and walking Mattie and Jazzie, I cleaned the boys place for my landlord for a house showing tomorrow morning, Then Gary came to pick the dogs up and I had a fairly quite afternoon and watched the Nascar Race and talked with the neighbors for a bit.

This evening I watched American Gangster which I thought was really good. Alittle slow in some spots, but it was well worth it.
Going to go up to let Mattie and Jazzie out one more time and then off to bed.

Tomorrow I work 9 - 5:30 and still have to let M & J out before and after work. At least Manley is glad to get rid of Gary's dogs today. He slept and snored for a while this afternoon.

Hope y'all had a good weekend.

Backyard Bear

When I got home from work tonight at 5:45 pm, I fixed some supper and sat down to watch a little tv. I looked out my window and there 1/2 way up the hill was a yearling bear. He went over by the pond, as I ran to the boys' door and told Brad that there was a bear in our yard. We heard the garbage can tip over and then our neighbor Jim came over. He took a couple of pictures that I am hoping get sent in this blog. The bear was not afraid of 4 of us standing there yelling at him, and Flex barking at him. I took a couple of pictures with my phone (darn it) and finally the bear went back up the hill, then circled around and went into the pond. When he went next door and over the hill, we got the garbage can into the garage as to not tempt him again. Then he was back! He kind of charged at Flex, the yellow lab, and then ran past him, about 5 feet away. It's kind of scarey to think that this bear didn't run from us, noise or barking. Hope he gets discouraged and stays away. ( I just heard a gun shot. Wonder if someone is shooting at the bear! ) Brad brought Flex in for the night and we are keeping yard lights on.
So, lots of excitement this evening.

My Vacation

I went to work last Friday and when I got done at 5:30I drove to Los Alamos, arriving there at Jody's about 9:15. Said hi to the family already there---Joyce, Jen, Trent,Barb, Kelsey and Emma. Then Shane, Jody, and Kalyn got in from the airport and took a while to get settled in while I finished making my pico de gallo for the graduation party the following day. Tyler got home late. Went to bed about 12 and got up at 5:30am. We were all ready to go to the graduation at 8:00 and got some decent seats in the gym. Tyler was in the 3rd to the last row, so we were anxiously waiting for him to get his diploma. They had a great speaker or two.
When we got home we got out all of the food and starting eating, hoping there was some left for the company stopping by. We had a fun time seeing some people we already knew and met some we didn't. Tyler was there for a bit, then he went off to other parties.
Sunday we sat around and gabbed, then got ready to go to Gabriel's. There were about 12 or 14 of us at a big table. Gabriel's is a Mexican restaurant north of Santa Fe that is a favorite among many of us related to Jody. We had a good time gabbing and eating the delicious food! I even got a free drink because my entre was later than the rest. A very cute waiter too! He even touched my hand! Barb and I were singing 'And then he touched me', but can't remember what song it is from.

Monday we all went into Santa Fe to the downtown Plaza. A parade was just getting over and we all did a little shopping and then had lunch at the Red Dog Saloon. They had a really good BLT on the menu so most of us chose that.
Then we went out to the mall and got a few items. So, downtown I got a lime green wallet/checkbook, a birthday present for some one, and a horse metal sculture for myself. At Dillard's I got a lime green summer bath robe. Trent got a couple of carousel rides from his great aunts.
Then we stopped over by Best Buy and some of us went into Michael's. I bought 3 cross stitch kits and a hoop.

When we got home I made my penne pasta chicken salad, with the strawberries and mandarin oranges.

Tuesday morning Jen and Trent, Barb, Emma and Kelsey left for home. Jody and Shane took Jen and Trent to the airport then went and got matching tatoos. Joyce and I took Kalyn to school and also picked her up. Joyce and I just hung out and gabbed, had lunch, went to see TJ and Diana's house and did laundry and straightened up Jody's place.
Jody and Shane got a new computer for Shane to take overseas so he spent some time setting that up.

Wednesday morning we just hung out and I got my stuff together, well, most of it, and was out of there about 10:30. It takes about 4 hours house to house. I had to text Joyce cuz I forgot a couple outfits in Jody's closet.
I picked up Manley on the way home. He was very excited to see his mom. He had stayed with Kyle and his dog, Harley. When I got home the girls (cats) were glad to see me too.
It was good to be home and so I unpacked and just sat around and caught up on my email.

When I got back to work on Thursday, I was missed. The other techs now appreciate how much and how well I do my job and do it 5 days a week. I only worked 2 days, then had 2 off. It was nice to have a short vacation and get away for a bit. My animals were well taken care of and I didn't have to worry about them. No body had any problems, as far as I know!!

So now it is back to the grind.
