For all of those people who would like some of my soup and asiago cheese bread, come on down!!
I thought instead of posting another snow picture, that I’d post this one that I took this October of the other side of the mountains.
So, yes, it snowed a couple of inches today and the roads were very slick.
I have the next 2 days off. Tomorrow I plan on cleaning and grooming Manley. Then on New Year’s Day I am going out to Catherine and Mike’s for supper. We are making fajitas, pico de gallo, guac dip and one of Catherine’s desserts.
So, let me know how you are spending your New Year’s Eve and Day!!
Hope you enjoyed the fall picture!
Poor little Manley’s nose must have been cold today. Can’t tell if it is under his quilt too or not!
And here is Kalista playing with the mouse—fake of course- in the sunshine. I tried to catch one of her rolling over, but not fast enough on the draw.
Just having a quiet weekend. The kids have been gone since last Thursday and not sure when they will be back. My neighbor Cynthia stopped in this morning before they left for Arizona for the week. She dropped off lettuce, pork chops and rolls that she didn’t want to throw away.
I work 3 days, then 2 off, then work 1, then 1 off. Then next week I work all 5 days, Monday through Friday.
Glad the Packers won today! And by a lot! Go Packers! Watching the Bronco/Eagle game. Living in Colorado you at least have to know if the Broncos won or lost!! :)
Hope every one had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
Here’s Manley with his gift from Cheyenne (Jill’s collie) and on his new bed and with his quilt his Auntie Jacque made for him.
Here’s Manley stacking for one of the treats.
And here are my presents. There are 3 Royal Almond Jafra products, a bag of Cherry Kisses, and a 5 picture frame all from Jill. Joyce also sent me an ornament of a snowman sledding plus the calendar and dish rag.
Hope each and every one of you have a Merry Christmas.
This is Chris, the chef at Swing, where Deb took me out for supper tonight.
Just wanted to prove that he is not a figment of my imagination! :)
And this is a shrimp/scallop linguini dish that he made for me.
Deb and I exchanged gifts tonight. I gave her some oranges and a scrubby. She gave me a bottle of Chocolate/Cherry Wine. And she paid for dinner, tip and all.
We also saw Chris’s wife, Rachel, and their kids. We got hugs and Holiday wishes from both of them.
Well, time to go make the strata for tomorrow.
Remember the deer pictures in my last blog? Well, Twig (the other deer with only the one antler that the kids named) came down the hill with this handsome fellow.
They just walk around and chew on bushes, not paying any attention to me!!
And, of course, another butt shot!!
And, Manley got a new bed for Christmas. I put it in the living room behind my chair. The bed is really thick, has fleece on one side and tough denim on the other. He looks pretty comfy!!!!
Tomorrow will be busy. I will be giving Manley a bath, then I get my hair cut, clean my place, prepare the Sausage/Egg/Cheese Strata for Sunday, then Deb is taking me out for supper at our favorite restaurant and fixed by our favorite chef, Chris.
Sunday I get to spend some time with Jody after Kalyn is dropped off to go back to Moab with Barb and Shane.
Then back to work for 4 days, then off 3!!
Isn’t he just cute? No fear of me standing in my open doorway taking pictures. It looks like he has only 2 points on his one rack.
Hot tub
My van finally moved.
Goldie’s paw prints. (the Golden X
owned by the kids in front.)
I know there’s mountains and roads out there somewhere! But where??
We have gotten another 4-6 inches of snow today. Luckily I got the van out of the way so the driveway can get completely plowed now. Hope we can get out in the morning for work.
Had to plow out a spot for Manley Man to go potty. 12-18 inches is too deep for him.
Hope Wisconsin got unburied!!
Here’s my van waiting to be brushed off and a different tire put on. BRRRR
Here are the kids’ cars still covered with snow.
This is the big rock by the hot tub.
It is minus 2 degrees this a.m. BRRRR At least the sun is out to help melt some of the snow.
This is Jim making a path for me, from his driveway to my door.
The finished product.
So, this is about 12-14 inches of snow on top of the garbage can.
Manley in the ‘new snow’.
This is the same view I took of the beginning of the snow storm yesterday. There use to be rocks here. Where did they go??
So, my snow day was filled with shoveling, taking my flat tire from the van to the tire place to be fixed, then more shoveling, then drinks and hot tub with the kids. We had lots of fun and enjoyed our time together.
I have off tomorrow and will have to dig my van out and get a tire put on. I actually will get some sort of tire put on the van so I can take it down to Peerless Tyres to get the studs put on and park it by the garage. All for a few brownies!
A good day was had by all!!!
