Hey all!! It's not even 10 a.m. and I have quite a few things done.
The weather is gorgeous, no clouds that I can see and perfect blue skies.
They say it's suppose to get up in the 80's again today.
Let me tell you about yesterday first. I went to Farmer's Market and got my fruit and veggies, then went and exchanged a tie-out for Manley at the pet store, got my hair done, then stopped at the store for meat.
When I got home, one of the guys (Elliot) was packing up and leaving to return to Steamboat. He will be missed around here. He was always so polite and respectful of others and his dog Kona was so nice. Manley really got along well with her. So, I guess another girl will be moving in to take his place. Michael is kind of worried that he'll be waaaayyyy out numbered, but he can hang out with Manley and Bandit. :)
Did some laundry, changed my bed, straightened up around here, read and finally got on the computer mid-afternoon. Made sure I would be around for the Nascar race today and doubt if I will see the Packers play. Guess I could watch the Broncos once in awhile.
Talked with Jacque for awhile in the evening and then it was bedtime.
This morning I woke up, dressed in my hiking clothes, drove up to pick Harley (Kyle's black lab) dog, went hiking on some of the little trails around the development and then came home.
Now I have to vacuum, dust, clean bathroom, mow the lawn, straighten a few cupboards, and switch out the summer/winter clothes.
My youngest sister will be here in another 8-10 days for a night or two. I am all excited, cuz I get to spend time here with her in the evenings and then when I go to Wisc. I'll get to see her for a couple of days up there too!!
You should see Kalista sneeaaking out of the bedroom watching out for Harley. She truly looked like a bobcat. She is just the image of her dad. Almost as big too!!
Well, off to vacuuming and dusting and such. Y'all have a great day.

IT'S SUNDAY!!!
Yes folks, it is Sunday. The last day of the weekend. The first day on a calendar. A day of rest and relaxation.
Fall is certainly in the air here in Colorado. It got down to 45 degrees last night and I am now attired in sweat pants, t shirt and fleece shirt, and socks. The sun is out and just coming up over the hill at 8:45 am and will help warm it up to about 75 today. That's it for the weather report! :)
Yesterday was a good day. Finally crawled out of bed at 8am, went down to Farmers Market and got my veggies for the week, then went to Healthy Hounds and Fat Cats and poor Manley had a bath. They have a nice dryer now and blew out a lot of his summer hair. He pouted for a while but got over it when we got home.
There was laundry to be done, cleaning, dishes and a pork roast to be made. Somehow it all got done in between reading a book and watching some tv.
Today Manley will be pouting. I have to groom him. Ya know, it is really amazing that Dexter loved it and Manley hates it. Such different dogs.
Did y'all look at my sister's blog?? Go here. She has a picture she posted yesterday. She will tell the story in a day or so I guess. Isn't that just the cutest puppy??? I laughed and laughed and then laughed some more.
Within the next hour it will be warm enough to set up the grooming table outside in the sun and get Manley groomed.
Then there's the Nascar race and football on tv this afternoon. So y'all will know where my butt will be! Yup! In my recliner.
Did I mention that I am done with Christmas AND birthday shopping for my family? I am bringing the gifts up to Wisconsin in 3 weeks so I can save on shipping.
Wow, 3 weeks and I'll be at the airport meeting my sister Joyce from Alaska, then going to Eau Claire/Wausau and Madison to see the rest of the family and many friends. I'm pretty excited!! Haven't seen them for over a year. (Except Joyce and Jody).
Well, I will be anxiously awaiting to see what Jacque is going to write on her blog about the puppy in the basket. Isn't that puppy cute?? LOL
Must go begin the torture on Manley.

A Day in Silverton
Today my friend, Catherine, and I went to Silverton. She drove her Rav4 so I got to enjoy the view. We had cool, sunny weather on the way up, rain while walking in and out of shops, then sunshine and rain on the way home. That's weather in the Rockies.
We had a fun time shopping and had a great lunch. I bought a couple of Christmas presents for my sisters; for myself, I bought a beautiful chocolate jacket, a pair of bamboo socks, a flipnote with pen, and a pair of hiking shorts.
We ate lunch at Handlebars. Catherine and I know the owner from Walgreens and school. We each had a cup of bean soup and an avocado/bacon/tomato grilled sandwich and shared a peach cobbler for dessert. It was scrumptious. Then we waddled on out of there :).
Left here at 9am (after I shopped at the Farmer's Market downtown) and I got home at 4ish. I did a little cleaning and then sat down to watch the Nascar race.
Last Sunday was a fun day. Jody, Shane, Kalynn, Barb and Stephanie stopped in for lunch. (They met to exchange a bed frame. It was 1/2 way for both Barb and Shane.) The meal was wonderful (they said) and we spent a couple of hours together. Now that I have a dependable car I can do more trips to Jody's. (And Gabriels!!)
I am glad that my sister's dog, Allegra, is better.
I have an eye exam scheduled for this next Friday. New glasses or contacts are on the horizon.
Scheduled my flight to the Midwest. Arriving in Minneapolis about noon on Oct. 10th and leaving from there on Oct. 18th mid-afternoon.
Sent my sisters' day surprises to Jacque's house a couple of days ago.
Work was awful and busy this week with the walk-in flu shots being available.
Manley REALLY needs a bath to get his summer coat out.
Y'all have a great week and it's time to go let Walker (the Vizsla pup that I have until Monday evening) out.

Raining
I really hope the rain stops by tomorrow morning, so it will be nice and sunny and breezy for when my company arrives around noon. I can't wait! My niece Jody, husband Shane, daughter Kaylnn, Shane's mom Barb and her grandaughter (?) are coming to Durango for lunch at my place. Barb is bringing a head and footboard for Jody. Durango is the 1/2-way point for the both of them.
So here's the menu: pulled pork sandwiches, pattypan squash, chips and pico de gallo and cantalope.
Guess what I was doing today? You guessed it! ----Shopping at the farmer's market, picking up dog and cat food, library, doing laundry, dishes and cleaning, letting Jeff's dogs out a couple of times, making pico de gallo and shredding/pulling pork, reading, sitting in the hot tub, and watching the rainstorm move in over the mountains.
It has been raining for over 2 hours now. It's a much-needed rain. Just hope it stops before noon tomorrow so we can all sit outside and enjoy the view.
Hope y'all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend. (I work Monday---double time!! :) )
My sister Jacque is getting something new (to her) tomorrow!! And I know what it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
